A few notes before you begin: This ritual is a gentle intention setting practice for inner reflection. It is not a spell or guaranteed outcome. Through your focused intention and presence during this ritual, you are consciously shifting your energy—creating space for rooted stability.
Always practice fire safety: Burn the candles and the bay leaf on a heat-safe surface, never leave flames unattended, and keep away from flammable materials, children, and pets.
Ritual Guidance
Find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed. The candles should burn down completely – about 2 hours. Take a few deep breaths, allowing your body to soften and your mind to settle.
Using a fire-safe plate, briefly light each candle and let the wax drip to secure the candles to the plate. Blow out the candles. Place the brown candle on your left and the white candle on your right.
Tie the twine around both candles, and pour the salt around both candles – grounding the space.
Sprinkle the peppercorns, cinnamon, and birch on to the plate, focusing on the intentions each brings.
Light the candles. Speak the following aloud and with confidence – repeat as many times as needed to feel this intention deeply. Adapt as needed so that you speak your truth.
“I am grounded in my power.
My energy is steady and sure.
I am safe, secure, and aligned in my path.”
Write a word or intention on the bay leaf. Hold the bay leaf and focus on this intention. When you feel ready, burn the bay leaf safely (or tear it), symbolizing the manifestation of your intention.
Observe the candles burn, noticing any shifts in your body, breath, and emotions. Use your intuition to interpret the flame, smoke, and how the cord burns. Avoid over-interpreting the ritual as this can keep your attention tied to what no longer serves, rather than allowing it to fully release. Let what unfolds simply be witnessed.
Close by thanking yourself and the energies that supported your ritual.
The true shift happens through your intention, your readiness, and your choice to return to your own sovereignty.
